A story as strong as titanium and
as resistant as vanadium.

In 1950, a group of French geologists discovered in Pernambuco a historic mine rich in iron, titanium, and vanadium.

Since then, the exploration of the site as a rich source of resources has significantly contributed to the development of the region and the entire country.

1970s

INORCAL carried out exploratory activities in the region and outlined resources of around 10.8 million tons of ferrotitanium ore, in addition to identifying various other resources.

1980s

Signing of the JV (Joint Venture) contract between the state-owned Minérios de Pernambuco S/A and the RADAMBRASIL Project for the assessment of the economic potential of all known occurrences and deposits of ferrotitanium.

The

2000s

Activation of the Serrote da Pedra mine by Ativa Mineração following the necessary steps for the operation’s safety.

From Floresta, in Pernambuco,
to Brazil and the world.

Deputado Audomar Ferraz avenue, Floresta – PE

Serrote da Pedra Preta is a project in Floresta with the potential to make a global impact. From there, critical minerals in the pigments and techonology chains will be extracted from production chains in a simple and sustainable manner, with low implementation and operational costs.

Logistic

The product will be transported by road to the ports in the region, from where the ore will be shipped by vessels for export.

Capacity

Ativa Mine will produce 180kt of Ilmenite concentrate per year (raw material for TiO2 production).

Optimization

In addition to Ilmenite, Ativa will also produce Iron-Vanadium in its beneficiation plant.

Extraction

Highly productive mine with high-quality minerals.
